JW here is a checklist, you can choose which type of hike you are going to do and it gives you a good idea of what you need, even for day hikes.

YOu may want to also check out REI they are based out of Seattle and are pretty in tune to outdoor activities.

Grew up in Seattle so yes I know REI and thanks for the lists of different needs for hiking.
Wondering how many hikers there are on that trail each year. I think we would prolly do the tent thing even tho it will mean more to carry but I too don't like the idea of the bed bugs. Rather have the outdoor bugs............but wait, didn't the bed bugs have to come from the outdoors first

I can be to the trail with just a lil drive, it is close by, will bring you anything you want lol

Make sure your phone does gps, internet etc so you can chat with us as you travel the trail!

You would have to check your states gun laws with the states you will be traveling in so you don't get arrested for violating a law.

My pack weighs in at about 35lbs and my wifes is about 25lbs. This is just for a weekend trip so if you go for a week or so the only thing you would have to add would be more food and clothes...
