I think I may have found it @Burd . I was looking up your name of Opuntia cactus and I found one that is no longer part of that group and it's now called: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brasiliopuntia

So I see it is also called Brazilian Prickly Pear on the Dave's Garden site.

Brasiliopuntia

The photo's look similar: https://cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Brasiliopuntia
Here is a photo of their trunk on this site.

Haha! @j.w - you're gonna need to raise the roof!
Off w/it's head! @Lisak1
Mine got its head chopped off................it was smaller when I hauled it back here from AZ, but it was bumping our ceiling so I did a total chop off. Mine was not as pretty as @j.w She must take better care of hers. But mine was a whole lot of years older. It will off and on have a small yellow flower, not often.
Now I have a nice new pretty baby plant, my mom's plant lives on!

Oh and those spines hurt, a dead leaf falls off it gets picked up right away, not with bare fingers unless really careful.

I won't cut it off till I have to but if I want to grow the part I cut off do I just stick it in soil and it will take root?

It did for me, but I have a lot of shoots coming up now so I don't try to root anymore. That is how I started it in AZ took a cutting from my mom's plant
