When I was at school we had cheese pie which was lovely.

I am trying to find a recipe to replicate it but am struggling.

It did not have a texture like an egg based quiche with cheese added (like quiche lorraine etc) and it wasnt cheese mashed with potato.

There was a pastry base but a lighter cheese filling.

Any one any recipes for something similar?

Jello actually makes a cheeze cake mix that is so good, some deli's make it and sell it as though they did it from scratch.
I don't know why they call it cake when it looks like a pie and is a pie tin.

cheese cake is to me a sweet dish topped with fruit.

I may have a recipe here that might be similar to the school one, why not try it and see what you think.Im not sure how many this serves etc as Im not making it until tomorrow and got from a pal with minimum instructions.
oven 170 degrees

8oz strong cheddar cheese
5oz bread crumbs
1 beaten egg
7oz milk
1 pinch dry mustard
1 small onion grated

6oz short pastry- recipe not include soory)

line swiss roll tin with pastry
mix above together but leave some cheese and pour onto pastry, sprinkle rest of cheese over.
Bake 40-45 mins until golden

You can slice some tomatoes and put those on top if you like.
