Creating a bog in an existing pond.

As a volunteer at a botanical garden here in south Florida, we have a opportunity to create a bog at a shallow local of the pond. Not sure the exact pond size but I would bust it's about have a football field. Pond is home to an assortment of koi fish and plants. I am looking for any ideas on what type of substrate, barrier, and or soil to use.

I would encourage you to check out Team Aquascape on YouTube. They have posted videos of bog builds on large ponds that I think you'd find very informative!

i would contact aquascape in Illinois but if your looking to tackle it on your own here is a similar project by them.

Humongous pond will need a huge bog!
You will get some great info here from those who have bogs. I unfortunately don't have one.

My personal pond , the video i just shot today. nothing other then a bog filter doing it's job . no where near your plans but it's taken care of
