Anyone has a recommendation for electrical outlet? I have an outdoor outlet on wall outside but it's too far for my pump, lights. Is there any outdoor extension outlet available on the market that I can plug into the wall and run it 30+ ft? Need at least four outlets. Was looking at the Cal Pump PC50 Power Control Center but don't know how wells it works since I read many review that the fuse goes out pretty often. Thanks!!

My husband just wired a outdoor electrical box down by our pond, around 50 feet from the house. Ran some romex type electrical cable through some conduit. The cable is rated for outdoor use.

I used to use extension cords (for about 7 months!), but it was such a hassle when mowing the lawn and was an eye sore. My Dad finally tapped into the plug and ran some wire and conduit underground, I now have 4 plugs near the pond.

I would not recommend any electrical work as a DIY unless you have lots of experience.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

ive been using an extension cord from my shed for 7 years now, I did take 10 minutes to bury it a few inches deep. cuz I didn't wanna hit it with the mower.
now I'm not saying its the way to go, but I'm lazy! the right way would be to run some pvc conduit, and some romex , to a box with a GFI plug.

lol my dear sweet hubby is an electrician, I used a 100 foot extension cord for 4 years, just this summer he ran some lines for me. No issues with mowing etc, it just ran down our slope among all the plants. I have a heavy duty 12/3 cord, think it is 12/3 it is thick.

Laughing...............he only ran it after he decided it was unsafe to have the extension cord running down our slope.

And I almost chopped it in half using the tractor, that would have been a surprise.
It was plugged into the garages one and only outlet popped the circuit a few times, so now the pond is on its own circuit.

For 4 plugs by the pond, I would recommend a 20 amp breaker directly from the main breaker panel - using 12 guage wire in conduit.
Have you a good idea already what electrical devices you want to power at the pond?

You can run and extension and put it in a box like Sockitbox... it's water proof and can hide power bars. Best solution is to run a new outlet though.

Hmmm, i looked into that as well but heard it's not recommended to long usage. Since i'll be running my pump 24/7 probably best option is to run new outlet. I might just get a extension cord plug it into the outlet and cut the other end and setup an outdoor outlet closer to the pump, lights, and UV filter.

We have done that for some things, cheaper than buying the wire. Get a heavy duty one.
