Yes I do use professional equipment. I used the Canon 1Dx and the Canon 200-400mm lens for these. I really can't suggest any point and shoots, I just do not use them. I use the canon D20 for the underwater capabilities which only has a 5x zoom. There are a lot of good point and shoots out there but not sure what I would recommend, I would stay with the 10x optical zooms.
