Sounds to me like it could be a low oxygen or high ammonia situation. That and overcrowding. How old are the chemicals in your test kit? They do go off after a while. John

I would guess O2 deprivation. 8 fish about three inches each in this warm weather? It's too much fish for the amount of O2 the pond can hold. It may have been okay in past summers when temps were cooler and the fish were smaller, but not now. Most people suggest 10 to 20 gallons of water per inch of fish for them to live comfortably.
