After reading a few hundred posts on DIY filters, I think I should finally register and reveal myself.
Like many others, it seems, I bought a house with a pond. And now I'm becoming a ponder. First step - buy some plants. Second step - built a skippy filter.
We think we have about 40 small goldfish in there, two frogs, one toad, and three big bull frog tadpoles. And in the last week we've seen a garter snake hanging out around the edge, not to mention the black bear that stopped for a drink after emptying our bird feeder. We're loving it!
