Hi I've joined in the hope of saving our pond.We have made it out of materials found here and there.Was looking great until we got 4 small fish! Started turning black so I moved fish to 2nd pond and now that's going black too. Got a pump from amazon but think I got the wrong thing?Also have a frog who took up residence so thought we were doing well at 1 point! This was my daughters project and want costs to be minimal as the aim was to use for or recycled materials

Welcome to the forum!

Do you know how many gallons?

What sort of filter do you have?

Yes a filter is a little helpful.

When you say turned black, do you mean from the dark algae I see in the pics? What kind of fish? If goldfish, they are fairly good algae eaters if they do not have more concentrated food like flakes or pellets, which also contribute to the algae growth through additional nutrients.

@emmy
Looks like dark green algae. Maybe too much feeding and pooping fish and not enough plants and too small of a tank. Better filter needed too. The one you have is just a fountain mainly.
