Hello everyone...my husband and I recently put in a 7X14 ft (4 ft deep in the deep end and about 2ft in the shallow end) pond in our yard...as you can see it was a bit of an undertaking....I have 5 koi in it and a few plants....any advice for new ponders

Oh there were shovels......just don't make for good pictures.....the pre formed pond is an upper pond the filter feeds into....

The frogs find you and then they go tell all there froggy friends and then they move in and take over

Very nice looking! It is hard to tell with the pictures, did you make the pond edge higher than the land around it? Sure don't want run off into the pond from heavy rains. Just a few inches will direct water around your pond.

Greetings from another fellow Canadian!! I see the frogs have found your nice pond already!

I would suggest that you find some nice sedges for your pond that are winter hardy. Sedges are best at cleaning the pond. I have many hardy sedges such as Yellow Flag Iris, sweet flag, as well as grasses and rushes.
