Well, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and I am very visually oriented....

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO USE A VORTEX OR A SIEVE: If you have, or can take, some pics of your set-up and post, I would love to see how it all goes together in REAL LIFE.

Still searching for better mechanical filtration and these 2 keep coming up, but I want to see more than the stock photos on the products' pages. I want to see some in-line, in-action application shots to give me a better idea of how BIG they are [how much room they take up] and the different ways you've set them up and use them (since we know that all situations are different).

This is my vortex settling tank made from a cone tank.

When setting up my system I considered installing a sieve, but opted for the vortex because I knew that I would have a variety of small fish and creatures that would probably end up going through the bottom drain and the likelihood of them surviving in the vortex filter was much greater than ending up in a sieve.
For people who only have large koi in their pond, that are too big to fit down a bottom drain, a sieve is probably a better functioning filter.
