Hello fellow ponders, sorry I have been gone too long. Life has been very busy lately with Getting Married, Taking Over the Family Business, and looking to Buy a House.

I got Married on October 13, 2013 to my beautiful partner of 4 years. Here are a couple of pics as some of you wanted to see.

Trying to pull us apart already!

Ok ok, I know, The FISH! My pond is doing well with 0 problems as of yet and running strong for over a year now. Here are some pics I took last night of the Goldfish and Koi when it was about 65 degrees fahrenheit on there "Last Feed" for a few days as when I woke up this morning it was a chilling 28 degrees outside :cold: and supposed to get down to 19 by early Tuesday morning (The COLDEST I have seen it hear since Birth lol) and to be back in the 60's by Wed afternoon (thats Florida for you :dunno: )

Like I said we have been looking for a house to buy and we have found some promising prospects, As some of you may know, YES, I have Koi in my little pond and they are growing fast with my largest "White,Blue and Black" Koi almost 8" now! Also I have stated in the past of building a 5,000 gallon pond when we move, well it will be more like 3,000 gallons as of now. I already have TWO 27 Gallon Gravity filters that are DIY and feed the new pond in the works and will show you them after the Bulkheads come in tomorrow and installed. Hope all is well with everyone and hope every one had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :fingersx:

I can't believe it is only 28 degrees in Florida

Amazing how fast these fish can grow. Good luck in your search for a new home.

Thank you all. I had a bad freeze (To Me lol) here last night as the temp dropped to 16 Degrees and My water lines were frozen this morning at our house (never happens here). The water fall in the Pond has Ice shards hanging from it but no ice in pond at all. Fish were very still in idle mode and my pleco was suspended in time in the Florida Room tank as the temps got around 45 degrees in there (He will come back to life once the water heats up over 50 again, happened last week).
Does anyone have any pointers to thaw water lines? The water softner on the side of the house is what gave out and crack and what has seized the lines up. I never use it so I will be bypassing it today hopefully.

It might be best to turn off all the water to your house until the lines melt you might have more than the one line cracked.

That was the first thing I did Addy when I went to work this morning. I don't think any lines are cracked, but rather that Water Softener head is totaled and it cracked and covered with ice and is what is keeping me from getting water to my house. I checked the main line coming in and no ice and no ice after the softener, Im hoping I can just reroute the water with ease once it thaws. I understand the hassell most of you up north have to go through now making sure all the plants are covered, lines covered, etc.

jw they are saying, down here, it will not be cold long enough or cold enough to hurt the fruit. So prices are safe. There is a market called Boys, we buy fresh, I mean fresh oj and grapefruit juice!, so good.

Temperature here is 10 degrees wind chill makes it about 10 below. Some of my Gold fish were moving around the pump area that I am using to keep an opening in the ice. When I saw the first one I thought it was dead, then I realized he was just riding the waves! The Koi must be smarter as they stay on the bottom where the water is warmer.
