Hello I’m posting a picture of a koi that I’ve put in quarantine today. The fish shop said that it’s got a bacterial infection and I’ve treated the water with a salt solution and also the attached solution.
I’m just wondering if anyone can give me an indication of if the fish will recover from this and how long it may take. Thanks for any help

I'm going to be honest - I can't make out a thing from your pictures. Will the fish recover? Hard to say. Depends on how bad the infection is whether it goes systemic or not, how quickly you caught it, how healthy the fish is generally. I'n not familiar with the mediation you're using, but I guess all you can do is try.

How big is your pond? How many fish do you have? What kind of filtration? How long has this fish been in the pond?

Hi I’ve attached a couple of better pictures.

we only got the fish two weeks ago. It was very health and has been doing well up to about 4 days ago when we noticed it lingering around the bottom of the pond.

I have 8 fish including this one in the pond. It’s 3700 litres. 3metres by 1 mm by about 1.3 m deep.

all the other fish are doing great.

move tested the water and had the sample also tested at the aquarium which all came Back as very good water quality.

we have plenty of lillies and iris plus oxygenating plants aswell.

hopefullythe pics are a bit easier to see

OK so just under 1000 gallons. That's wayyyyyyy too small for koi, especially if all 8 of your fish are koi. But that's a topic for later discussion.

It looks from the photos like what they call "cloudy eye disease" which isn't actually a disease at all in and of itself, but rather the result of some other issue. The cause could be a variety of things, from trauma to parasites to fungus to bacteria to water quality. The best approach is always to try to narrow the problem down as best as you can and then do ONE THING and see it through. Too often people start throwing a whole barrel full of treatments at a problem and end up causing other issues.

Did you add this fish to an existing pond? Or did you add all the fish at once?
