Landscaping Software

Has anyone used software to plan their garden/pond/yard? There are several programs out there,..many are very pricey some not so much. Anyone try something they like?

I love google sketchup, it is free and easy to use once you learn how. It may not be landscape focused, but works just fine.

I agree with Zman. I used sketchup to do the pond design. It will even do 3-D. It's tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty cool.

Google Sketchup it is. We are building a bog in another area of the property. This one will be level every step of the way. LOL

Well,...downloaded Sketchup,.......I remember why geometry was always so hard for me in school... I'm thinking this program is a bit above my head.
That sounds bad,....I'm a college graduate and I can't use a free program to plan out where to place my flowers in relation to my bushes!! AArrrggghhhhh. Maybe I should stick with a pencil and paper!

LOL! As I said, it's a little tricky at the beginning. Use the instructions, they help you understand the concepts and tools.

don't give up, keep working at it. It's always good to learn how to do something new. I took some time a played with it and this is what I came up with. There is no real rhyme or reason to this pond/pool, just playing around at the moment

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a show off :bowdown: . I'm glad to hear that you are going to continue with it, you'll be surprised how much stuff you can do with a little knowledge of a 3D software of some kind
