Lots and lots of snails

A few weeks ago I cleaned out all of the plants from our waterfall that leads to our koi pond, and this morning I noticed that the small rocks lining the waterfall looked speckled. So, I pulled one of the rocks out to investigate, and I discovered that there are many many small snails covering all of the rocks. (See attached images.)

Should I be concerned about this? Will they be trouble for the koi in the pond the waterfall leads to? If I should kill them, what would be the best way to do that?

Thanks!

Lots of folks have snails in their ponds and put them in deliberately. Good scavengers, should be fine unless they are eating your plants.

With koi in there, the snails won't be a problem. I made one of my koi ponds to a lily only pond- no fish. The snails destroyed over 20 lilies. Tried several chemicals to get rid of them. Finally added a dozen feeder goldfish. Can't find a single snail.
