Hi all, I am finally beginning to build the pond this weekend. Supplies bought, excavator has been rented, patio is electrified, and I have a vague plan! Pond dimensions are fairly set as I have a 20'*25' EPDM liner, which will become a 12'*16' pond with 3 feet max depth. I titled this marble madness because a local flagstone dealer was having a fire sale and I got a patios worth of marble for cheap, we were there for normal flagstone but they sold out. The marble was actually cheaper than concrete pavers with delivery included. It came with these massive edging stones. A more formal pond is being built because I have no idea how to build a natural pond with giant cut flagstone.
2 inch thick, 48 inches long and 16 inches wide, this will be the pond surround.
The yin and yang of fancy marble pond and cattle panel garden beds, the feng shui will be unmatched.
As you can see, I have a ~65lbs furry golden koi that is ready to inhabit the pond.
I barely have any slope, about 7 inches from front of pond(patio side is lower) to back. My idea is to use the dirt from the pond excavation to build up an area for the bog filter to be higher, so that I can have a bit of a waterfall. My liner for the bog filter is 10 by 25. At first we were going to have it extend into the back yard a fair bit and have a stream. At this point I don't know if I have the elevation gain for that to be feasible. My current plan is to split the liner in half and have two bog filters with a raised path in the middle.
