If it fails, use the mineral spirits 1st then clean off the mineral spirits with acetone. MS can leave an oily reisdue and Acetone will remove that.

Well, guess no one has come up with a stop-leak for ponds yet. Started losing water again 2 days ago and it has dropped below the patch put on so I guess there was a problem somewhere else. I have shut down the bog to rule that out and put my filter that was leaking a small amount into a container but no luck. Water level is now 6" in the shallow end. Most of the fish in this pond were going up for sale this spring anyway so I guess this would be a good time to move them to sale tanks.
Also, had my neighbor tell me he saw a redtailed hawk on the ground by the pond last week. I have seen it close by and yesterday I watched it swoop over the pond. The netting is now up but 2 pure white koi are missing! Not sure how many smaller fish he got as well. We have 3 pairs of hawks nesting in our neighborhood.

I have 1 150 gallon stock tank and 2 100 gallon ones. Will put the sale fish in those and the ones I will be keeping will go in the new pond. I figure if I move my filters over to the new pond while we rebuild, I can handle the overstocking.

Darn sorry about the hawk getting your fish mrsclem. We have a bunch in the woods behind me, they are more bird eaters then fish I think lol

It is getting to nesting season, they are looking for food!
