Finally finished my "fry basket" yesterday:) Used four "T's" in the top of the frame construction to be able to put different lengths of pvc pipes in, depending on where we want to put it... they seem secure by simply sticking a piece of pipe into them, but gonna play it safe with a stainless steel screw to hold them in place...

I think all it would need is to be is maybe 8 inchs deep but with fry you could put plants in with them .

It was a PITA to work around the pvc frame, so I think if I was going to go that shallow, would stick with the normal plant ring style, with just irrigation pipe or pvc at the top, no lower frame... this one was made mainly for the 750 for fish under 2-3"... with the poles on, I wanted it to sit a few inches from both sides of the 750, with plenty of room under it too, so no chance of a fish getting stuck anywhere around it when in use...

I attached some pics of the fry basket in the 750... this is all of the younger koi... hubby caught everyone last night, and later today, will let all the bigger ones have the 750 again... just going to keep the smallest guys in here for a bit so they have a better chance at getting food...

The pond must have warmed up a bit today... several of our fish went from looking dead on the bottom of the pond, to swimming around (some still looked dead on the bottom LOL) ,,, the water was crystal clear til about 4 ft... grabbed the camera thinking it was one of the last oppurtunities before spring for some nice pictures... denied LOL... it was overcast/really cloudy, and while the pond looked great in person, the camera lens did not capture it, it got the cloud reflections instead. Even tried playing with the settings:-( Going to post the pics anyways, the fish were staying down about 30 inches or so... I am already ready for winter to be over...
