I was given a water cascade for my new pond that was rather old and the Cotswold stone effect had become yellow in places. As I was going to lay slate around the pond I bought grey pond paint to try and make it look more natural and blend in. It did not work , as a single colour is not how Stone looks, as you will understand it has lots of shades, dirt and moss etc. So this is what I ended up doing ; touching up the high spots with a darker grey waterproof paint and some masonry paint; then I used some of the waterproof cement I had used to seal the cascade with the pond liner and I ‘dirtied’ the cascade by ‘smudging’ it with some of this cement. I’m also trying to grow moss on it so along with some planting it’s now starting to look a lot better than it did.
