Hello,

I have a pond that is 10' x 6' x 2' deep (650 gal?) and we have a waterfall that has a 3 foot rise. The two waterfall sections are about 1' wide and 6" deep. We have a few fish (10) and a large Lily in the pond section.

My impellor in my pump (800 gph) broke again today so we are going to purchase a new pump. My question is how big of a pump should I get?

I am planning to get an external filter and add it before the waterfall.

Submergible pump > splitter > filter > waterfall.
.................................................. > circulation in pond

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Your pond is actually closer to 850-900 gallons. To properly circulate the water in the pond you need a pump that will provide a flow rate of 1350 - 1800 gph. The filter can be sized accordingly.

Depends on size, type of fish plus feed. if they are under 7 inch goldfishes then 800 or 1000 will b enuf , if u hv koi or fishes are over 7 inch then 1500 to 2000. Remember waterflow is nothing untill u hv enuf filter media in ratio with inch fish
