We purchased a home on 14 plus acres late summer of 2011. It has a pond that had not been touched in several years. Lots of duckweed and many frogs. Last summer we were too busy with other project to spend any time on it. However we now wish to restore it. It is about 30' by 28' and about 5' deep in the center. We discover under a ton of leaves a waterfall. The pond is on the edge of a woods and is shaded by oak trees. We cleaned out a good six inches of dirt from the bottom. Now we need to figure out how to set up a filter system or how to maintain water quality. We are needing a lot of help!

welcome and if there was a waterfall tread lightly because there could be electric out there and you have no clue how or where the wiring is run and what shape it may be in .See if there is a breaker that says pond any where in your box .First is the circuit breaker box .Remember there could be another breaker box .My house has 3 of them

Welcome aboard, Pics would be helpful. Sounds like you have a good basic start. Have you tried to plug in and see what works yet?

Build your own filter and plenty of how too's on you tube .To post pics just hit the button next to post that says more reply options and it will give you an upload format that says attach files then hit attach files after you find the pic you want to post .My new filter before it was done and then put liner under filter if it ever leaks or over flows it goes right back into the pond
