Last year I put a small pond in my yard with a waterfall coming off of a side hill.the problem I had was rain water was getting in behind the liner and was pushing out the liner in the sides.how can I stop this?
Hi, Joseph -- You need to go over to the "Introductions" topic and start a new thread. Then you can tell us all about yourself and your pond.

From Cape Town, South Africa now residing in Germany past 13 years. Started some years back with my Aquarium collection, ranging from various fish, crayfish, shrimps & Aquatic snails. Moved last year from a rented place to one my wife and I now own, that is why I started my Pond project in early Spring. I have one of those preformed ponds, since I guess I was just eager to get things going. Had the Pond then cycle for a few months and last Saturday introduced my first fish to the pond, a pair of Shubunkins and 8 Bitterling fish. Also have some freshwater mussels that have made themselves comfortable as well in there.

Look forward to getting to know fellow members and also take in advice since Im quite new at this part of caring for aquatic life in a pond.

Welcome my friend I think what you are seeing here is a symbiotic thing as this works both ways [the btterling redresses the ballence by laying its eggs in fresh water muscles where its young are protected...
Whilst the larval stage of the fresh water muscle[the glochidia] will attatch itself to a fish and live there as a type of parasite where they will live until they are ready to drop off , when they set about growing to adults and so on etc etc
I have one or two South African koi keeping friends who I contact from time to time or chat with when I pop over to their website Koi4u

Welcome to our little group of pond fanatics. I stayed earlier this year in a hotel next to the springbok museum at the V and A wharf in SA. Cape Town is a really interesting and beautiful city.
