New to Group/Ponding for a Few Years

Hello, all! I have just joined this group in hopes of some ideas, suggestions, and general knowledge about ponds. We line in Northern KY, and have two ponds (shown below). The smaller pond (red water pump) is approximately 8 years old. It is well-established, and we are planning on expanding it slightly and replacing the liner this summer. The other pond does not have a liner, as we accidentally discovered the yard hold water there after we removed an above-ground pool we had there for many years. It is about 5 years old, and we are in the process of expanding the size of this pond and doing some major renovations to the pond and the surrounding area. We do not have any fish in either pond at the time, but we have a few resident frogs that seem to enjoy them.

I am excited to learn more about ponds and hopefully get some great ideas and suggestions here!

We have always had fish in the pond with the liner, but I think a raccoon or something got them. We are just waiting to finish renovating before putting new ones in.
