I'm in New Hampshire. Upper pond is 14 x 10 ft and is 30 inches ma x depth 90% shade. Lower pond 16 x 10 ft 40 inches deep max, 80% sun. Looking for suggestions for aquatic plants, not too invasive, maybe some color to them.

I use alot of hostas . Some of them like shade and some like sun in my landscaping . auquatic plants are easy to which like sun or shade . I use pond builders or youtube because they ponders show which plants work best . Maybe on here someone should start a post of pond plants and whicjh ones are better . I know in my pond for floaters what I use . Water hyacinth for sun and water lettuce for shade and lillies I put in floating pond net s I made out of those pool noodles they sell at the dollar tree . I use laundry bags foor the net part . i used to use window screening but found laundry bags just went over noodles better

I only have two Wanvisa Red waterlilies growing in my pond in dishpans filled with clay kitty litter. Tucked between rocks on the edges I put a couple of Sunpatients that will bloom all summer. Pickerel Rush also does well in the rocks as does one pitcher plant. But I have a bunch of stuff growing submerged shallowly in the bog: hostas, pitcher plants, Luna swirl hibiscus, White Ginger, pickerel rush, Louisiana irises, sunpatient. Experiment, have fun.
