Good morning group - I hope everyone here survived damage from the recent storms across the country -
I have an 8‘ x 15‘ x 6‘ deep shipping container pond with a large bio filter attached, and have Koi and a couple of large softshell turtles that we have had for years in with the Koi. I am contemplating buying large mats of artificial plants to put on one side that will allow cover for the mosquito fish as well as an easy way for the turtles to climb in and out of the pond. Has anyone had issues with the Koi eating plastic plants? I know they destroy live plants and am just a little concerned that they may ingest pieces of these if they were to chew them apart, which would most surely be fatal. Has anyone else had any experience with plastic plants in their ponds? Thank you all in advance for for the read and for your input.
