Pond from Green to clean :-) With a feathered friend(not what your thinking)

Yeah this was the first animal I found in 2 years. I guess this little guy was unlucky

I am making my nature type pond with a walk out slope so hopefully anything that falls in will be able to crawl out.

thats a really good idea. I could move just one flagstone to make a path out.

Yep, i hate to see anything die, even leave little crawl out places for bugs.

If everything else is right, you don't need one at all. My ponds are always clear and I don't use one.
Worried about watts? They don't run for free and replacement cost isn't cheap either.

That's because your ponds are {matured},as years go by ponds and the water conditions get better.Much like wine.

It's true, they are now matured. That does help in many ways.
The first year with the upper pond is when the green pea soup showed up. I built the Doc Bio Filter and it went clear within a week. The little tubes in my first design, offer enough resistance while the water is rising in the 55 gallon drum to keep the solids from excaping. I wish now that I had taken video before the filter, I had no idea that it would work that well.
