Salt bath?

I plan on getting a few fish to add to the pond this weekend. I've seen where some people dip the new fish in a salt bath to kill any potential parasites. i'm not is a position to quarantine.

Has anybody done this? if so, what is the ratio of salt to use?

.3% or 3 cups per 100 gallons

But keep in mind this will ONLY get rid of external parasites and gill flukes, not internal, fungal or barcteria infections as a dip.
