I use acurel and get 5 or 6 bags when they are on sale at pet mountain and crushed oyster shells to stabilize ph

Thanks Sissy and Morewater. I know its from leaves here. We are in the open and leaves just blow around like crazy here. I did net in the fall to keep falling leaves out but now I know I will also have to either net the pond again in the spring or put something around the pond it next year so I am not constantly fighting the leaves. I also do not have a skimmer so that doesn't help me either.
Will get some activated carbon and do some water changes and hopefully that will take care of it. At least I can still see the fishies. :)

Walnut and oak leaves are the worst.....they take forever to decompose.

yep netting with a pool net and getting them out fast or putting a net over the pond is the only way

You could a;ways rigg up a foam fractionator that may well help
