That was our guess ... some quick research made HER look like a HER, and the conservation site gave info about June being the month they laid their eggs, and their behavior to seek open areas ... she was in the middle of our backyard, an area with a good 150' of treeless, sunny area ... all around our backyard is woodlands and wetland areas, so lots of food, so why else would she come out into the open like this? Hoping to find her "spot" so we dont mow it....
