hi everyone, i have just done my weekly water test on my main pond and all is good, i also have a wildlife pond that is 30years old never been cleaned 6 inches of crap at the bottom lots of frogs, newts, sticklebacks, pond skaters, snails, nymphs so i thought i would test the water and all the results nitrite o.o ammonia 0.0 kh9 which are pretty much the same as my main pond. the wildlife pond has no filtration but has lots of plants, my question is how is this possible ? the test kit is colombo professional and is in date with a year still on it. is it purely and simply the plants and time that have made this work ? any info gladly received, thank you .

Yes, you pretty much got it. Plus no large life forms in there creating a lot of waste for the plants and biofilter to process.
