i would line that beutiful cedar box with epdm rubber and have it flow out a copper weir easy to make and when it greens up and stunning .. i know copper is a no no but i doubt water running over it will be an issue

I’ve definitely thought about it, copper would look amazing with stained cedar. However, that box is pretty big, it’s probably 70-80 gallons of space. I would need to reinforce it quite a bit to hold that much weight, the bottom is really just cedar planks. I may build a new one for next season using that idea
