Ooooh! I hope you can get a pic / video of the male!! They are so pretty! I've never seen one in person, but they are supposed to be around in our area as their summer breeding territory. But that female is striking, too!
One of our Boy Scout dads is an avid birder -- we'll be on a campout and he'll say, "Did you see / hear that so-&-so bird?" He recognizes all their calls and know what to look for. I'm doing good if I catch a glimpse of something flying away. Some day......some day......

Gorgeous male, and great video of the female. What was she eating? Loved the sounds of all of the beautiful (I'm sure) birds! I wish I had more song birds where I live. I can name all the birds in my area, since only a few come to my yard. Having no stands of mature trees within over a mile in every direction doesn't help my bird population.
