New list of new species were discovered in Asia of fish, squirrels, frogs, plants, and so on. The scribbled arowana is beautiful. I feel if conservation methods can be put in place before it becomes a cash cow for the locals it can be a great thing for those in the hobby. More or less release a handful to reputable breeders and get them into the retail market. The problem lies where conservation takes a back seat to greed or flat out necessity in a nation where something as simple as an arowana can fetch tons of money where there was once little. The fish is beautiful and hopefully can be brought to us with a positive story. Why not let a few breeders flood the market with captive bred and devalue any wild caught fish brought in for sale. Small portion of the profits go back to conservation. Too many times rare animals get black listed and the value goes crazy. Let think this one through for once. The story of the arowana is here, http://reefbuilders.com/2012/04/18/scleropages-inscriptus-arowana/ there are a few other articles out there with all of the species discovered.
