Oh @addy1 , I'm very sorry about hubby's increased confusion. I understand your decision to sell the boas, too great a risk. My Dad had a very large boat, he had an " incident" and wisely recognized it was time to sell. Sad, an era over, but many good memories .

I've had sad news, 3 weeks ago my baby sister went in to have her gall bladder removed and they found advanced ovarian cancer :( It has truly knocked the wind from my sails and any creative ideas I had for our yard and garden are on hold for now.
Sorry to hear of the bad news @Tula use to look in from a far in the past seeing everyone coming down with x y and z . but it seems i have stepped through that door way and now it's happening to those around us. They have come a long way in Medicine I hope they can pull a rabbit out of the hat for your sis.

@Tula so sorry to hear. Best wishes and prayers for your sister.

It is one of the hardest cancers to catch. Annual pelvic might help, they might feel the lump forming.

A good ultrasound helps, but not ordered without a reason. Maybe a annual internal ultrasound, like a flu shot. But insurance would never cover it.

I scanned a lot of women looking for it, but only after it was advanced.
Thank you for your prayers. Yes, we're pretty much reeling from the news.......going in for outpatient gall bladder surgery, to aggressive ovarian cancer which has spread. Been reading and the majority of ovarian cancer diagnosis is made when it's fairly advanced, thinking we need to do better.

Oh, my heart aches for you @addy1 and @Tula. My dad died last May after more than a decade with Alzehimer's Dementia . It was so hard to see him go through it and change. When he passed he was still and incredibly gentle and good man but his personality had completely changed from the man he was when I was growing up. More than once while he was still alive I felt like Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride when he was talking to Count Rugan. I wanted to curse at the disease "I want my father back, you son of a #!@$@#!!!"

I also had two grandparents die from cancer, and my Dad had colon cancer in his forties too, so I feel a little of your pain as well, Tula. I used to work at Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City and I saw a lot of stories of people overcoming cancer there, so I know there's hope!

Ironically an ultrasound was ordered after she visited her doctor for discomfort. The US found gall stones, so they didn't look at anything else, assuming that was the culprit. The cancer was found during the surgery to remove the gall bladder :(

You're right about insurance not covering some procedures that could help detect it earlier ex: internal ultrasound and a simple CA125 blood test.

And now we hear of Princess Catherine's cancer diagnosis and her cancer was also found following her surgery.

Darn cancer.

They ordered the wrong body part, we were not "allowed" to look elsewhere. I broke the rules all the time.
See a bit of fluid around the liver, find the reason.

Makes excuses later, opps I slipped, but look what I found!

The full moon really made it tough to see, but that faint streak is the newest starlink satellite train

I've had some more successful plane spotting lately. After such a long winter (ok, I'm exaggerating, it wasn't that bad) It's been nice being able to get outside a bit and enjoy the blue sky.

So nice out for a bicycle ride! Should get to 60, yay!
My riding mower is broke so have to use hubby's big, giant zero turn one to mow my part. Won't let him do my part as he is not so careful and picky as me. I've used it before but not enough yet to be a pro, so hope I have plants in beds left. Will take it slow so I don't murder everything

It wasn't our day! We survived, the TREE, pulling honey suckle, feet away, and boom!

This was our hawk, Heron roosting tree. a friend of mine sitting on it for perspective.
