Be cautious of putting fish in a new pool liner intended for use as a swimming pool. Some liners are impregnated with algaecide chemicals to help prevent algae growing on the liner. This makes it toxic to fish. We had a bunch of goldfish and a few koi thriving in a pool with a torn liner half full of pea green water for several years. We had a new liner installed and in two weeks almost all the fish died because the liner was intended for a swimming pool, not a fish pond. After a few months the chemical in the liner wore off and now we have no problems. I'd put in a couple goldfish at first to see if they survive before stocking fish you want to keep.

Good info. My pool was well used prior to adding fish here, and was only ever filled with well water, non chlorinated, and rain.

The pools are assembled.
Tomorrow I'm going to start boxing it in with some wood.
1 To prevent some UV damage
2 To prevent it from looking like what it actually is....Two kiddie pools.

I'll do that. Thanks.

I've got a lot of the framing done now.
And there are 2 small goldfish in each pool.

I’m good with mine looking like a pool! In fact, I need to get the mulm out so we can get it moved and set back up.

There is a real issue here with UV exposure on vinyl. Not to mention the hurricane activity.
Keeping it as just 2 pools would all too soon lead to a premature failure, I'm sure.

The pumps, plumbing and filter boxes are done.
I've ordered a bunch of bio media and it should arrive this week. The top pipe is an inlet spray bar. The lower pipe is the return. The unused fitting will be an overflow pipe to prevent draining the pond if there is a blockage.
