Hi,

I am new to ponds having moved into a house with two quite large ones. After cleaning it all out and checking the water etc I have added fish. About 6-8 weeks ago. I have two Albino Grass Carps. One of them yesterday I noticed was swimming towards the top, and not very energetic. Today he was struggling to stay upright and keeps going upside down and unable to control how he swims. Looking online I thought it could be his swim bladder but when I got him out his one gill, the one that points to the ground when he is on his side looks infected. I have attached a picture. I tried going to The aquatics Center but I just missed them. I have put the fish in a bucket to take some pictures. Any thoughts or advice?

Sometimes they just get sick, especially when they are little. I am sorry about your fish. Did it survive over night?

I just wanted to reply and welcome you, since no one had chimed in with any advice.

I'm sorry about your fish. I'm not real good on fish disease diagnosing so I would hope someone will come along to help you soon. Have you done any tests on your pond water to see if it correct?

How about pics of the ponds. id suspect too little oxygen in the water, ammonia, or a host of other issues before swim bladder after all that is also a sign of poor water quality
