OK, just took these. The barges are all on ice and would be lower in waterline. They still need a bit of detailing like tow hook loops and such.

You can see the unfinished parts of the bricked wall of aqueduct in some of the photos. Below freezing so work stopped on that.

Amazing project going on there, David! Yours is the only aquaduct project that I have ever seen, and it is truly spectacular. All the detail work you have put into it is neat as well. What's the dude with the fork in the last pic? Looks mythological maybe? And, in your first barge pics, I thought you welded them, they looked more like rusted metal than wood. Very cool in that natural state, but I like the painted colors, too. It's also very interesting that you have articles of this type of business in the past that inspired you. I must say that you surely have tours of your backyard when you have everything up and running, right? I can imagine small children standing and watching and being mesmerized at your workmanship. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks. It will probably be at least a few years before everything is semi-finished. Neptune or Poseiden ensures smooth passage of barges. As for Neptune himself, he most likely will end up in the canal beyind him when the hounds start chasing rabbits and squirrels and each other.

Oh, btw, here are some photos I don't think I've ever posted. This is another canal system. At the moment, this canal is silted up and I'm modeling it as an abandoned canal. I used to live near the Erie Canal and it brings back memories. Here's the canal prior to it silting up from mud flows coming off hill. Also, a glass house with a crate for a seat. These photos were taken maybe 2 summers ago.

Sure would be neat to see the whole thing in action up close and personal in real life!
