I'm not @GBBUDD but I was really impressed with the plants I got from https://www.joyfulbutterfly.com. Big, healthy plants that arrived in great condition. They don't have a ton of pond specific plants but swamp milkweed and cardinal flower from them are both doing great this year in my bog.

@GBBUDD - I remember somewhere else you mentioned an online source you were happy with. Would you mind posting the name? Thank you!

If your looking to spend a dollar on a koi koi market seems to always have some crazy quality fish but a price to go with it on the bigger boys and girls. They are setting up a new store should be interesting

You have some pretty agressive invasive plants there @Abby
In warm cli.ates penny wart and pRrots feather can get put of control pretty quick

we’re not aggressive people at all BUT OMG WE LOVE US SOME AGGRESSIVELY THRIVING PLANTS! lol …other than the Pennywort, everything else dies back in the winter so it’s annually self containing. There’s also a waterfall stream between the bog and the pond so they can only get so crazy ;)

I live in 10a. Is your bog in full sun all summer, or will there be some shade at any point? Things doing well in my bog and margins that could probably handle more heat are: canna lilies, watercress, water hyssop, creeping Jenny, Lindernia grandiflora. I don’t have enough room for Taro plants in my small pond but I would definitely have some if I did. Yerba Mansa and dwarf umbrella palm are also on my “someday” list.

Oh, and don’t forget, a lot of vegetables love bogs, too! Anything that is grown in a hydroponics set up can be grown in bog. If I didn’t have a separate veggie garden I’d have a lot more edibles in the bogs.

Also you can put containers in your bog to help you control growth or at least stay on top of it. Not in the bog but here’s pickerel and papyrus in containers in water ;)
