BOTTOM DRAIN FOR BOG?

In light of the controversy related to the accumulated muck in a bog, wondering if there would be an advantage to having a bottom drain in a bog?

I have the ability to drain my bog, but don't use it unless working on the piping. The few times I have drained it nothing came out. Add a drain if you can and it makes you feel better.
