Eggs?

Hey guys! I was cleaning my pond filter when I noticed all the little coned shaped larvae that were attached to the filter is gone! But unstead replaced by this...root looking egg??

They felt kind of hard to the touch and it takes a bit of scraping to get them off the first time I found them. They came back again now.

Can anyone identify what they are?
