Finally some good news.

While I was hauling stones yesterday up to the new water-break I am building below the old dam I kept seeing what looked like a fish swimming in the small pool that forms below the low water point and turns out it was one of my koi he had made it up there somehow and seemed almost "thrilled" to see me and the net in the water as he went right into it lol. So even though I still have a large death toll at least I have one more survivor

Indeed. Definitely a worthy gift albeit a "late Christmas" and I think my koi was just as happy to have been found as I was to find him because he ate like a pig when I got him into the stock tank
