Ponds ago, LOL

This is the reason I'm here! What do you recomend? I've been to several local pond stores and they want an arm and a leg for filters/media :faint:

The DIY section has a lot of good info on pond filters and building your own. We are doing a bog filter.

Hi John, your pond looks great! I've been at this for 5 months now. Having the time of my life, started with 500gal. Tore it down at 1200gal. Now! The wife said enough already wants her back yard back. We live down the road from you in Cumming. HOA is starting to stir. Anyway from what I'm hearing the lava rock is a pain to clean. The softer media is expensive but easier to clean since you need most of the good bacteria for the health of pond and fish anyway. Dont know about all those frogs you will have soon! Ha ha I have purchased everything( all three up grades)from local dealers, we probably shopped same place. If I started with forums like this one would have saved thousands off dollars.live and learn. Let's enjoy the journey,
Your neighbor, Richard P.

Hi John L. Welcome. I am also a goldfish person. There are quite a few here. I also had trapdoor snails until a local raccoon family took them all!

Sissy they are hardy, should last the winter, I wouldn't order any until spring give them a chance to get used to the pond before they have to survive a winter.
