Hi, After spending several hours searching for a fix for my leaking hose joints I came across this forum and I have joined you guys and gals in the hope that you help me solve my problem, but 1st how did I get the issue.

My pond in about is about 15 years old, it's not very large about 9.25m2 (100 sq Ft), it holds about 2.5m3 (88 cubic feet) of water. It's situated in a south facing garden in full sun light (not great I know), there is a pump which doubles as a fountain I have a Fish Mate 10000 P-UV filter, two Blagdon UVC 16200 UVC clarifiers and an air pump with 3 water stones. Unfortunately, I get a build up a green silt, but the water quality is fine, the fish seem to thrive and breed, the frogs love it and the lilies look great.

The pond has never been drained and cleaned, I knew from cleaning the pump intake that there was a lot if detritus in the bottom of the pond, so I decided to give everything a thorough clean and re-new the hoses up sizing in the process from 25mm (1") to 32mm (11/4"). So, I replaced the hoses, added new wire type clips and started up the pump, whereupon almost all of the joints leaked.

I've tried adding plumbers PTFE tape between the fittings and hose and really tightening up the hoses, I even replaced the hose in case it wasn't up to the specification dimensionally.

Putting it simply I don't know what to try next, my fish are in a temporary home but I'm worried about them becoming stressed.

Suggests for fixes would be most welcome, many thanks

I hope you have a lot of good leftover water in whatever you put your fish into to wait as they are going to be very shocked if you put them into clean water. I never drain my pond and clean it. Good way to kill all your fish. They are used to the old water so when you put them back in the pond put some of the old water back in first and add the fish and then ever so slowly add fresh water back. Maybe take days to do this so the fish might survive. Also if you have room in whatever you put the fish into you could slowly add some fresh water into that so as not to shock them. That way you will have more water that they can get used to to add back into the pond. Make sure filters are running and the air stones also. If not enough water for filter, then wait on that but run the air stones.
Not sure on the hoses or fitting issues.
