Well I was finally able to get a bunch of river stones today for my border around the top of the pond. We went to a state park today called Ledges that had been closed to cars for the past 2 years because of damage from major flooding back in 08'. They had this road called canyon road which is what it sounds like. A creek runs thru there and flows over the road 5-6 times. The flooding caused lots of river stones to be exposed and cause major problems. Well today after hiking thru the creek with our dog and 4 kids we loaded up our van with about 1,500 lbs of rocks. Now working on replacing all the landscape blocks around the pond with these river stones. Cementing them in place as I go. Will post some pics tomorrow when I get a chance. Going to add some pipes going thru the rocks to add a auto fill system later.

It was tons of fun. The 3 older kids loved playing in the creek, our 1 yr old was in a baby back pack carrier and our almost 1 yr old beagle loved chasing the kids off leash. As long as the kids are outside playing, he must be out there with them. He will cry at the door til we let him out.

How neat! looking forward to your rock pictures. We did that in arizona, went to dry river beds and hauled a bunch of rocks back for my arizona ponds, had a great time doing it too.

Well, I had a busy night afterwork. Had to take our 1yr old to the dr for a sinus infection.. They were super slow so it took forever to get back to the room. Had to make a few other stops and finish a few projects around the house tonight so I wasn't able to get anymore work done on the stones. I was able to sneak out and get a few pictures tho. Not sure why this one is blurry, it didn't look that way when I took the picture with my phone.

Here are the two piles that we have left.

I got some more mortar mix tonight when I was at Menards getting some things for the air vent project in our bedroom. Hope to have it done in a few days.

Well still working on the pond rocks. Got them all done around the top of the pond, now just to finish around the base of the landscape stones that I put the rocks on top of.
