When dealing with a koi pond how often are 10% water changes suggested?
I was advised as little a time gap of a week?
It should be part of your weekly pond maintenance
true of faulse?

I would think that it would be determined mainly by the Nitrate levels.

Dave 54 how often do you do the water change and what is the main advantage?
Remember this is the first time iv owned a biggish koi pond my last one was very small so a 30 to 40% water change was no problem but now the new pond including filters is 18,000 gallons

Warer changes and live plants help keep nitrate at acceptable levels. In an aquarium nitrate at 20-40 mg is normally acceptable. Although 20 or under is preferable. Nitrate in my pond normally tests zero.
