My infra red alarms pick up cats all the time. They just sit and look at the fish.

exactly. they are attracted to the movements and "wish" they could nab one, but the reality is that they hate to get wet--so the chances of catching one are nil.

I never had any problem with my cats getting any of my koi..
they would just get a drink and wish..
and the koi new it
