Lotus plant help needed.

Dear garden gurus, my precious lotus that I have is currently in a dévastéd state (as I see), is there anyway I can save Theodore and precious plant of mine?

Lotus are very fragile, usually don't like their tubers moved when they are growing. Is the lotus in the house or outside?

Is it planted in dirt or just floating in water?

My lotus is currently in my house with mud.

This is how I do to my lotus in the winter. I empty all water from container and bring it into unheated basement or garage, cover it with leave to keep it moisture. The temp between 35-55f is ideal. let it go dormant.

My lotus is currently in my house with mud.

Mine never get removed from my pond. They get to enjoy cold winters and hot summers. I can't help with keeping one alive in the house.
