addy, that is mom deer, born in yard 2 years ago. last year had 2 babies in yard. here is pix of 10-month old daughter following mom.

ha ha. i give them, illegally, sliced apples and carrots. property is wildife federation certified "habitat", so i have a little room for play. the deer stay wild, but know me. always come " home" for rest. looking forward to having the water/pump + skippy filter running within ten days, then new challenges to deal with (water quality). sigh.

I enjoy the deer even with all the munching they do. We usually have babies playing in our back field. The only thing that bothers me is the males rubbing the velvet. I have to wire wrap any smaller trees, they killed the main stem of one, which is sending out sprouts from the one foot tall trunk left, so I am leaving it to see how it regrows. I am taking 4 foot high chicken wire and doing an permanent wrap on the trunks.
