Hey everyone, I have just built a 8' x 6' x 18" deep Bog....before I could fill with soil sand and sphagnum my hole filled up with rain-water....I have put in 6 big bags of sphagnum and it is still sloopy.....have any ideas what to add next and how much? thanks....

I would put the sand in and it will settle, the bog is supposed to have water so the water should be fine. I would plant the plants in the sand and then see how it looks, give it time to settle, they connect to the pond flow! :)

I assume you are using sphagnum peat moss, and not undecayed sphagnum...

You probably have enough sphagnum in there, but you need sand. I would start adding sand, up to but not exceeding about half as much sphagnum that you've already added, and see how that feels/looks (looking around on the Interwebz I see recommendations of a 3:1 or 2:1 ratio of sphagnum to sand).

Standard disclaimer: IMHO, YMMV, etc.
