Welcome to the forum Suema! Did the plants come in pots already? You could add some fertilizer unless you need to repot them. One week should not make too much difference.

Will you be having fish in your pond? I ask this because the fish waste becomes good nutrients for the plants to feed on.

How many gallons does it hold?

How deep is it? Check your lilies. They may need a certain depth.
I tried lillies, but my fish kept destroying the stems! Maybe you'll have better luck. Or maybe you don't even have fish?

Many of us like to keep our plant roots unrestricted by pots. I use planter bags. They are a kind if mesh bag that have a draw string at the top. The mesh allows the roots better contact with the nutrients in the water. This way they are not confined to a pot.
You can also plants some plants in-between rocks if you have an area with rocks.

Some of us here use plain kiddie litter instead of or combined with soil. The cheap clay type without any additives.

Enjoy your project!
